The Delta School District will be opening a Lacrosse Academy at Delta Secondary in Ladner starting September 2012. This academy is open to males and females in Grades 9-12. Out-of-catchment and out-of-district students are welcome. Out-of-district students need to attend a Delta school to participate in the academy, while out-of-catchment students can move between their home school in Delta and Delta Secondary every other afternoon to participate in this new academy. Students in the Delta Lacrosse Academy will be coached by Josh Neumann, an accomplished player/coach and certified personal trainer. Josh has a Bachelor of Human Kinetics, has played in two Senior Men's National Field Lacrosse championships has been a member of BCJLL and WCSLL All-Star Teams, has helped to build the lacrosse program at Vancouver College and also owns and operates a personal training company in Vancouver. The Delta Lacrosse Academy will be a two-block program - students will be bussed to Holly Park Turf (home of Delta Field Lacrosse), Sportstown in Richmond and/or the Ladner Leisure Centre for lacrosse skill development and core fitness. College recruitment opportunities will be available to interested players.
